Home Care in Easton, PA
Easton is the Northampton County seat, built where the Lehigh River meets the Delaware across from Phillipsburg, New Jersey. It's Your Home Care provides licensed, non-medical in-home care and senior care in the city and in Wilson, West Easton, Glendon and Palmer, Forks and Williams townships.

Why Easton families call us
Easton sits on the state line, and that shows up in our calls. Many adult children live or work in New Jersey, across the Free Bridge in Phillipsburg or farther east along I-78, and need someone on the Pennsylvania side to cover the weekday hours they cannot. Others grew up on College Hill or in the West Ward and are now caring for a parent who never left. The reasons are familiar: a fall, a hospital stay at one of the St. Luke's campuses, memory changes, or a spouse who has been doing everything alone for too long.
One thing to know up front: our license and our 16 counties are in Pennsylvania, so we serve Easton and its Pennsylvania neighbors but not Phillipsburg or other New Jersey towns. Easton also has a sizable Spanish-speaking community; when we match a caregiver we consider language along with needs, personality, schedule and location, and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange.
Neighborhoods and housing
Easton's four districts each have their own kind of house. Downtown, around Centre Square and Northampton Street, there are older brick row homes and apartments above storefronts. College Hill, above the Bushkill Creek around Lafayette College, has larger older homes on steep streets, many with long front stairs. The West Ward is dense blocks of row homes and twins, and the South Side, across the Lehigh River, climbs the hill with narrow row homes and twins. Wilson and West Easton are older boroughs with similar housing, while Palmer and Forks townships are mostly suburban singles, newer developments off Route 33 and Route 248, and Williams Township to the south is more rural.
A care plan for a West Ward row home usually starts with the stairs, bathing and getting groceries home. In a Palmer Township ranch it may be companionship, meals and rides to appointments. We work through the house with you at the consultation, and our home safety checklist is a good place to start beforehand.
Easton's hospitals and coming home
Easton families usually come home from one of three hospitals. St. Luke's Easton Campus, the former Easton Hospital, is on South 21st Street in Wilson Borough. St. Luke's Anderson Campus is in Bethlehem Township off Route 33, and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks is on Hecktown Road, also reached from Route 33. People who need specialized care may be treated at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill or Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest in Allentown before coming home.
Call us with the discharge date and the address. A caregiver can meet your parent at home, help them settle, prepare a meal, set up reminders per the discharge instructions and stay overnight for the first nights if needed. Nursing and therapy come from the home health agency the hospital arranges; we are non-medical and work alongside them. How care starts in Easton
- Call (717) 695-2704 or request a consultation online. Tell us the address, what a normal day looks like now and what changed recently.
- In-home consultation. A care coordinator visits the home in Easton or the nearby boroughs and townships, meets your parent and walks the house with you. Northampton County is one of the farthest counties from our Harrisburg office, so the visit can take a little longer to schedule than the one to two business days typical around Harrisburg.
- Written care plan listing each task, the schedule, and your parent's preferences and routines.
- Caregiver match on care needs, personality, language, schedule and location, with an introduction before the first shift when schedules allow.
- Ongoing check-ins from our office, and on-call support for active clients outside office hours.
An honest word about scheduling
Easton and the surrounding boroughs are easier to staff than rural counties, but schedules still depend on caregiver availability. Longer visits and recurring shifts are easier to keep consistent than one-hour check-ins, and addresses toward the Slate Belt or in rural Williams Township take more planning. We will tell you at the consultation what we can cover reliably.
Paying for care in Easton
- Northampton County Area Agency on Aging, (610) 829-4540. It handles OPTIONS for residents 60 and older, PA MEDI insurance counseling, Medicaid waiver information and the long-term care ombudsman. We accept OPTIONS through the county AAA. See how the OPTIONS program works.
- Long-term care insurance. We provide the care plan, daily notes and itemized invoices most carriers ask for. See how long-term care insurance claims work.
- VA benefits. Aid and Attendance and Housebound benefits can help eligible veterans and surviving spouses pay for care at home. See VA benefits for home care in Pennsylvania.
- Medicaid waiver programs. Community HealthChoices (UPMC Community HealthChoices, PA Health & Wellness, AmeriHealth Caritas), the OBRA waiver and Act 150. We are an enrolled provider, and your parent can choose any willing and qualified provider. See home care through Medicaid waiver programs.
- Medicare does not pay for ongoing non-medical home care. It covers intermittent skilled home health visits when a doctor orders them, which is a different service from ours.

Long-distance family
You call every day. You visit when you can. But the weekly drive is not enough anymore, and every unanswered phone call sends your stomach through the floor. You need someone local you can trust.
After a fall
A fall changes everything in a day. Whether it ended in the ER or just a scare on the kitchen floor, the question is the same: how do we keep this from happening again without taking away their independence?
Dementia and memory loss
The repeated questions. The stove left on. The night you found the front door open. You want to keep them home, and you are starting to wonder how much longer you can.
You need a break (respite)
You have not slept through the night in months. You have canceled your own doctor's appointments twice. You love them and you are running on empty. Respite is not giving up; it is how you keep going.
